Siesta Key Annual Sand Sculpting Contest

Siesta Key SandsculptureSiesta Key’s Sand Sculpting Contest is celebrating 41 years on May 4, 2013 (Rain date May 5, 2013).

This event should not be confused with the Master Sand Sculpting that takes place in November every year. Not an official artist? No worries. This is not the high level sculpting you will experience at the Masters event. They encourage anyone to give it a try.

You can enjoy this really fun contest as a spectator or a participant for free. All ages and skill levels are very welcomed. In addition this is the perfect time of year to visit the beach and appreciate the creative efforts of those brave enough to give it a try. The contest is free and open to everyone— It even offers a children’s category ages 10 and under and youth 11-17. Other categories include adult humor and adult misc.
